Nintendo just announced five new Super Mario games to celebrate 35 years of their pet. The Japanese company has presented them this afternoon by surprise and has reported that these new titles (which are mostly reissues of old games) will go on sale until spring 2021 for the Nintendo Switch console .
The most prominent announcement has been that of Super Mario 3D All-Stars , which will go on sale on September 18. This compilation will bring together three iconic games of this character in three dimensions: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy.
Beyond this expected greatest hits of Super Mario, the most impressive game of the presentation has been Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit . This new installment in the Super Mario racing game series will make use of augmented reality technology and kart-shaped toys to turn the real environment into a virtual track.
For its part, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury will be the update for Nintendo Switch of the adventure launched on Wii U in 2013. This reissue will add new levels and will be in line with the rest of the ports that Nintendo has been doing with the catalog from your previous console.
The one that no one expected is Super Mario Bros. 35 , a title that looks like the plumber’s first adventure, but this time it will feature a confrontation between 35 players.
Finally, Game Watch: Super Mario Bros. will not be a game for Nintendo Switch, but a replica of the classic Game Watch pocket machine that Nintendo marketed in 1980. This not too faithful reproduction of the first portable video game of the Japanese company will incorporate a copy from the original Super Marios Bros.
