Samsung has expanded its family of ‘lifestyle’ televisions and has announced the new model The Terrace, a television designed for outdoors that has certification of resistance to water and dust IP55 and anti-reflective screen to better see the image in sunlight.

The Terrace provides a 4K screen resolution, is accompanied by a sound bar with built-in woofers for the bass and is available in three different sizes: 75, 65 and 55 inches, as Samsung reported in a statement.

However, the new TV stands out for bringing Samsung’s QLED technology for outdoor televisions, and features a weather-resistant design through IP55 certification for water and dust resistance.

The Terrace’s 4K display is adapted for outdoor use and boasts a brightness of 2,000 nits, allowing content to be viewed even on sunny days, incorporating an high-reflective coating and technology that optimizes content to reduce reflections.

The device has a 59.8-millimeter-thick design and features WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as support for Samsung’s Bixby voice assistants, Amazon’s Alexa, and soon also Google Assistant.

The Terrace is available from this Friday in the United States and Canada, and this year it will be launched in other countries, including Germany, Australia and New Zealand. In summer a professional version of the TV will hit the market.

This model joins Samsung’s range of ‘lifestyle’ televisions, made up of other devices such as The Frame, launched in 2016 and with support for displaying works of art; The Sero, which adapts to the vertical format; and The Serif, with a focus on design and integrated into furniture
