Russia releases first batch of its coronavirus vaccine

The Russian Ministry of Health has put into circulation the first batch of the vaccine against covid-19 developed in the country, baptized as Sputnik V , after having completed the required quality tests.

“The first batch of the Sputnik V vaccine passed the necessary quality tests of the laboratories of the Federal Surveillance Service in the Health Sector and was released into public circulation,” the Russian Ministry of Health said in a statement, collected by the Sputnik news agency .

This same Monday, the Russian Health Minister, Mikhail Murashko, announced that the Russian vaccine against the coronavirus will begin to be administered this week to the first volunteers within the framework of the third phase of clinical trials after registration.

Russia’s National Office for Consumer Protection (Rospotrebnadzor) has reported that clinical trials of the Russian vaccine carried out by the Vector virology and biotechnology center will be completed on September 30.
