Poco F2 Pro: Xiaomi puts a demolition price on its most powerful mobile

Technology News

Xiaomi has somewhat betrayed its philosophy of cheap and powerful mobiles with its latest phones in the Mi range. The Mi 10 cost practically the same as its main competitors in the high-end, the Galaxy S20 and the OnePlus 8.

However, with the Poco F2 Pro they can once again boast of achieving the highest characteristics of the more ‘premium’ range while containing the price at the limit. Although with the Poco F1 this was much more true, since it did not exceed 300 euros, it is not easy to get another mobile with a Snapdragon 865 processor for 499 euros or 549 euros. The price difference is due to RAM and storage space: 128GB and 6GB and 256GB and 8GB, respectively. Only the second model also has the fastest RAM (LPDDR5).

These prices, however, are for launch only. After May 15 (next Friday, in three days) they will start to cost 549 and 649 euros, respectively.

For that money, the mobile offers a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen and FHD + resolution, so it will be a large phone. It also has a 4,700mah battery, so given the Poco F2 Pro doesn’t have a high-refresh display, it should last more than a day of use. And if you run out of ‘chicha’, it has a fast charge of 30W: in an hour it is 100% charged.

In the photographic section, the Poco F2 has four rear cameras and a front camera. This one has 20 megapixels of resolution. It works through a mechanism that hides it inside the mobile, a very last year concept that was abandoned in 2020 because the mechanism added a lot of weight to mobile phones.

At the rear there are four lenses: a 64-megapixel main, a 123-degree wide-angle, a 5-megapixel telephoto for macro photography, and a 2-megapixel blur effects camera. The great absentee of the Poco would be the telephoto lens, that is, a lens with which to zoom.

Xiaomi promises that the Poco F2 Pro is capable of recording video in 8K resolution, although only at 24fps. However, the 4K recording is 60fps.

It is also a mobile with 5G connectivity and WIFI 6, so it is up to date in terms of standards that guarantee that it does not get old. In terms of age, fortunately it comes with Android 10 installed, so it also has the latest version of Android so far.
