Lenovo-owned Motorola has long been looking for a niche in the mid-range of smartphones. Although in recent months it has also opted for terminals that aim higher, such as the flexible Motorola Razr or the Motorola Edge, the company knows that where the market moves the most is in the medium and low ranges and that is where it can have more opportunities.

The market is not easy and Chinese companies such as Xiaomi and the newcomer Realme are doing a very good job in the terminal strip at between 150 and 400 euros. But Motorola does not want to miss this distribution of the cake and seeks its place with a new 5G phone , the first of the company, which comes to the market in two versions, a normal and a Plus.

Starting with the exterior, the new Motorola terminal features an elongated 21: 9 design and the company’s largest screen to date, 6.7 inches. To take full advantage of the panel, Motorola has chosen to place the two front lenses on the screen, in the upper left corner, in two circles that do not go unnoticed. In this way the frames of the phone are reduced quite a lot following the current fashion.

The screen, FullHD + and HDR10 +, has a refresh rate of 90Hz , which is evident in the fluidity of the navigation, although to consume less battery Motorola allows you to change to 60 Hz or put an intelligent mode in which the phone itself decides the Hz for you.

On the back, a plastic cover but with a glass-like finish. Motorola also includes a transparent case that also comes directly on the phone. In this rear there is a square camera module that does not protrude too much, which is quite appreciated, because when resting it on the table it does not wobble slightly. And the fingerprint? Well, on the side, just below the volume buttons, and in our tests it has worked quite smoothly.

The phone is light and handles quite well thanks to its elongated shape, but the finishes make it clear that it is a mid-range terminal.

Moto G 5G works with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X52 Modem-RF system, which gives it the 5G connection and makes it the first Motorola phone with this connectivity. In terms of memory, two versions: with 4G of RAM or 6Gb and 64 or 128 Gb of storage.

The G 5G’s battery is 5,000 mAh that even with 90Hz they can handle the day perfectly. In addition, 20W fast charging.

NFC, Android 10 and Motorola’s customization layer, My UX, complete this section in which the phone comes out quite graceful.

The zillion camera craze has arrived at Motorola. On the front it puts two lenses and on the back, four, which makes a total of six cameras to attract the consumer who believes that the more, the better.
